The Theatergesellschaft Entlebuch (''Engl.'' Theatre Society Entlebuch) was founded in 1837 as an association, following earlier theatre activities in Entlebuch in a loose alliance since 1834. The society is located in the municipality Entlebuch, Canton Luzern, Switzerland, and has been active until today. Every few years the society presents a lavish operetta production that involves around 200 participants, most of them being locals and amateurs.<ref>https://www.operette-entlebuch.ch/geschichte/</ref>

== Repertoire ==
In its beginnings, the Theatergesellschaft Entlebuch staged mainly drama, often with historical or patriotic subjects. Towards the end of the 19th century there was a shift towards musical comedy. Since the 1920s, operetta has been the core of the repertoire.
