Loisachtaler Bauernbühne e. V.

The Loisachtaler Bauernbühne e. V. is located in Wolfratshausen. It is a member of the Verband Bayerischer Amateurtheater e. V. (Union of Bavarian Amateur Theatre). The mainly perform Bavarian dialect plays and popular comedy. As a special tradition of the theatre society the audience receives small gifts when entering the venue, e.g. every woman in the audience receives a rose, every man a glas of schnaps when attending.

Sometimes the theatre society translates classic drama into Bavarian dialect versions, e.g. Wolfgang Ramadan's translation of Shakespeare's Taming of the Shew.

History

In the summer of 1979 Sonja Reis and Gaby Rüth published a call for collaboration in the local news paper announcing: "Zum Theaterspuin suach ma Leit und wer a Lust hat und a Freid, meldt sich bei uns an, damit er recht bald kommen kann." ("We are looking for people with a joy for theatre play, register with us and come soon to join", in Bavarian dialect). Thirteen people responded and hence formed the founding group that opened the theatre society in 1980 at a meeting in the local inn Humplbräu in Wolfrathshausen. Wiggerl Gollwitzer was appointed the president of the society, a position he held until 2017. The first theatre performance of Der Herr im Haus in I (I am the Patron of the House) took place in fall 1981 in the foyer of the secondary school Realschule Geretsried.

From 1982 the theatre society performed in the town hall of Geretsried. Due to a growing popularity, they fist extended their performing season and then moved to the substantially bigger Loisachhalle in Wolfrathshausen. Both venues host performances of the theatre society depending on the repertoire. For special occasions, e.g. the performance of So vui Wunder in 2007, extra theatre venues were constructed.

Since 2007, the theatre society group offers historical city tours Splitter aus der Wolfratshauser Stadtgeschichte (Glimpses of the Wolfrathshausen's History). The tours were created in cooperation with the Volkshochschule Wolfratshausen (People's Academy Wolfrathshausen) and are led by costumed tour guides.

In 2010 the theatre society staged a benefice performance of Alles Blech in cooperation with the Förderverein Geretsried (Charitable Society Geretsried) to collect 18.000 € for the creation of a cinema in the local city museum.
