The Grassauer Bauernbühne e.V. (Grassau Pheasants' Theatre) was founded in 1965. The group first performed the piece "Die schwarze Katz" ("The Black Cat") on 8 August 1965 in the hall of the inn "Zur Post" in Grassau.

History

Theo Huber (first president and director) initiated theatre activities in February 1965 and founded a theatre association together with the founding members Josef Noichl, Liesl Schmaus, Werner Haslinger, Hans Georg Gnadl, Agathe Huber, Karl-Heinz Lehner (treasurer), Theo Steininger, Linde Laubhuber, Margit Domaschka and Manfred Huber. Later also joined the prompter Maria Ertl, Anderl Laubhuber (make up) and the stage technician Hans Zusann.
