Löfholmens theatersällskap (alternative spellings: Lövholmens theatersällskap) was a Swedish amateur theatre group active between 1828 to 1830[1].

History

The society can be counted into the category of country house theatre. They converted an old shed into a theatre, which they used during the summer months.

In 1830, there were 65 members, whereof 12 were women (five married, seven unmarried) and 53 men.

Repertoire

Over the course of three years, the group performed 10 nights: three in 1828 as well as in 1829, and four in 1830). In total, they performed 18 plays, with three renewals in 1830.

Publications

Besides producing and performing theatre, the society also published a magazine called ”Löfholms Argus”, with 6 issues published in 1828, 10 in 1829, and 7 in 1830.
